Micro chip your pets.
This is security for your pets if they get lost or are stolen.
Most pets have micro chips already implanted but you have to register them with information
on present address plus include your veterinarian address and phone.
Check with your vet if he has a micro chip scanner.
Some animal shelters now have them.
It wouldn't hurt to call your local shelters to find out which ones have these scanners.
Do this just in case something does happen.
Police department across the country have been known to pickup strays in their house calls or just out on the road. They might have scanners available for them to get an address information.
So check with your local police to see if they do scanners on strays.
You can also put a collar on your pets with an address on it along with your name or just put the address of your veterinarian make sure you call and ask first if he will except being called in case of an emergence.
These two examples will protect your dog or pets from getting lost. But will be of help to those that find your pets wondering on the roads or streets alone.
