Advanced planning ahead.
Pet carrier put a label with your name and address with phone number on the inside of the carrier. just in case. Make sure they have on their collars.
Use a sturdy pet carrier for safety reasons; make sure its high quality and safe.
Gradually get your pet accustomed to spending time in the carrier.
Get your pet and ID tag with new address also phone number on it.
Place your pet in a secure place either in the house or placed in the carrier.
Make sure movers know the room is off limits. Place a notice on the door just in case they forget. You could place the pet in a special room during the time of the move.
Be prepared for your car trip. Cats especial should be in a carrier because most cats do not like ridding in a car. Have a harness on your pet during the trip.
Never leave your pet unattended or alone in the car when
temperatures are hot or cold even when you park the car.

Air travel you can get information ahead of time by notifying the airline that you are taking a pet. They will give you information on what to do?
New Home preparations
Make sure you have a recent picture of your pet available just in case.
Take all items like food, pet bed, medications,water bowls, toys, vets medical records for your pet.
