Animals need a dog house or shelter outside. It should be bid enough for your pet to stand, sit and lay down comfortable. It shouldn't be to big of a house that its

Put straw or marsh hay both are good to put onto the floor. Put the house on brick to get it off the ground.
Should use a heater for the water bowl. Fill the bowl twice a day but do not let your
pet depend on snow or ice for his water this can be unhealthy.
Pets need their paws protected from salt which can burn or ice that could lead to cuts. Either put on booties or clean their paws off.
Short haired dogs need to wear sweaters or some kind of coat while out side in the cold.
It's a good idea to either honk the horn or bang on the car to alert any animals that
might have taken shelter under your car. You could even look under it if you don't want the neighbors to complain.
